Associação Desportiva Sanjoanense has signed Nuno Queirós, a young, most promising line player from BECA, in the Portuguese city of Celorico de Basto. The young player was recently called up into the Portuguese U19 National Team.
BECA (Bastinhos Escola Clube de Andebol) announced, in social media, the move of their 17 year young player to the team from São João da Madeira, which plays in the Portuguese 1st Division, aka Andebol 1. With this move, BECA shows, once again, that it is at the moment one of the best handball schools in Portugal. They had received in 2018 an award in recognition of their efforts in youth handball.
The young line player has signed a contract until the end of the season, making a giant leap from Zone 1 of the 3rd National Division, where he scored 25 goals in five games, to Andebol 1.
Nuno Queirós, who is still a first year Junior, had only known BECA until now, where he officially started playing in the 2013-14 season. He has been called up several times to the Regional Team of the Handball Association of Braga, has been part of the National Under-16/17 Teams and has recently been called to the National Under-19 Team.
BECA had recently seen the departure of another promising player, namely the young centre back José Magalhães, who has moved to ADA Maia/ISMAI, which also plays the Portuguese 1st Division.
